Double Ear Infection

Well after 5 days of Morgan running a fever just a few days behind Sydney I figured she had the same thing but I was wrong. Daddy and Morgan made a trip to the Drs. office on Monday to find out that poop Morgie Meister had a double ear infection. The Doc said one ear was much worse than the other one. Poor girl. Here I am waiting for a "virus" to run its coarse and come to find out it's an ear infection. I guess I can win. Everytime I run them to the Dr. its nothing and then when I try and wait it out its something that I should have taken them in for sooner. So I am wishing Morgan well. Just a few days into her meds she's feeling so much better.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear ME. Happy birthday to me! Well 29 years ago I was born into this world. My guess is that it was a cold January day since I have always lived in the Midwest.

So this will be my last year in my twenties. 30 is fast approaching! Watch out 29, it's going to be a GOOD ONE!

Day 6 of sickness

Well today is day 6 of the sickness invading our home. First Sydney came down with a little something on Friday Night. Matt and I were up with her most of the night. She just couldn't get comfortable. Then Saturday Sydney started to run a fever and it was all down hill after that. Finally I think Sydney is over the "virus" that she has but now Morgan has it. Morgan was up last night with a fever and getting sick, if you know what I mean. Then on top of it these poor girls both have colds. I have been off work all week caring for the girls and am ready to return to work as soon as they are better.

Wii

Well I feel like we are the last family to get a Wii but we finally got one today. I was able to talk my husband into it and he is loving it. I am wondering when I will get a turn. Haha!

So we hooked up the Wii this afternoon and have been having a blast. I love it because its something we can all do. Here are some pics from this afternoon.
Here is Matthew and Morgan playing Wii Bowling!!!

Morgan is really getting into this one. She's got the hair whipping and all!

This child of mine cracks me up. I don't know how but she scored better than me in Bowling.

My Girl is Getting SOO Big!

Well today I realized my "baby" is not so much my little baby anymore. She's grown up so fast I just can't believe it and today she got her EARS PIERCED!!! She was AWESOME. I was more nervous than her. My hands were sweaty. But she did so good and barely cried. I am SOO SOO SOO proud of her. They they look great.
Here is Morgan with her " I got pierced" sticker on!!
And here they are. The new Blue Earrings! I think she looks GREAT! It brings tears to my eyes to see how grown up she has gotten over the past 4 years.
Lookin' Great Morgan, Mommy loves you more than you will ever know!

Last Chance

To all of my fellow coffee drinkers. I wanted to let you know I was at Logli on Charles Street today and they still have Eggnog and Gingerbread Coffee Mate Creamer. It was on close out for $1.59. Eggnog is my fav so I made sure I snagged up a bottle. I was thinking most of the Seasonal Flavors were going to be gone by now.

22 Below

Friends, I am not sure on days like today why I still live in the Midwest. I don't mind winter and I love snow but right now its 22 degrees below zero with the wind chills. I do not like cold weather and this is beyond cold.

Last Nights Dinner

So last night for dinner Matt and I tried another new recipe from the Hungry Girl Cookbook that came so fast from amazon last week. It was the Egg Flower Power Soup. This soup was delicious. Kind of tastes like a combo of Egg Drop Soup and Chicken Noodle. I loved it and Matt did too. Matt is pretty particular about what he eats and if he says he likes it you know its good. Can you believe it, it packs a whopping 50 calories per 1 generous cup!
Now, the only thing different from the recipe that I did was substitute the red pepper for summer squash. It looked so good at the grocery store that I couldn't pass it up and thought it would be great in the soup. The next recipe we plan to try is the Chicken Pot Pie!!!

i HEART amazon

Can I say that I just love Amazon.com I ordered my digital camera through them back last Fall and not only did I not have to pay taxes or shipping but it came in 2-3 days. So on Monday I ordered a new Cookbook and a couple of DVD's and I got it TODAY! It wasn't supposed to come until next Thursday. I am amazed and thankful. So this made my day.

The book I ordered was from Hungry Girl. I actually checked the book out through my local library and I liked to so much that I decided to add it to my collection. It's got some good recipes in it and they are all so healthy.

Here is one of them that we had for dinner last night. Matt and I both gave it 2 thumbs up. I obviously had to double up the recipe for the two of us.

Freakishly Good French Onion Soup

1 cup fat free beef broth

1/4 cup thinly sliced onions

1/2 slice toasted light bread (40-50 cals each)

1 slice reduced fat provolone cheese

Directions: Toast bread and set aside. Combine onions and broth in a small pan and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Pour soup into microwave safe bowl. Place toasted bread on top of soup and then cover with cheese. Place bowl in microwave and heat for 30 seconds.

Makes 1 serving and has 113 calories and is only 2 WW points.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to ALL!
Matt and I had the pleasure of ringing in the New Year with one of my oldest and best friends. We had a great time with everyone and look forward to what 2009 has in store for us.
